Welcome!
I’m an Analytical Chemist (Ph.D.) with 10+ years of experience applying mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, chromatography and nanomaterial characterizations to solve complex analytical problems in environmental, materials, and biological systems.
-
Mass spectrometry and chromatography: U-HPLC-MS, HRMS/MS (tandem mass spec), GC-MS, ICP-MS for analysing DNA, oligomers, Proteins (proteomics), polymers, small organic molecules, heavy metal isotopic analysis.
-
Physical and mechanical properties of nanoparticles as well as thin films: AFM - based nanoindentation hardness, elastic modulus, Hamaker constant, and surface tension measurements (AFM and Langmuir trough), MOF for carbon capture applications.
-
Advanced spectroscopy and surface analytical chemistry: transmission-FTIR, ATR-FTIR, AFM-PTIR (NanoIR), hyperspectral mapping, CD, UV-vis, nanoIR, IRRAS, O-PTIR+ Raman for solid-gas, solid-solid, solid-liquid and air-liquid interfaces containing small organics, surfactants and biomolecules.
I'm currently based at UC San Diego as a staff research scientist and laboratory manager.

Outside the lab, I turn to the arts for balance and inspiration. Under the name Ceylon Painter, I share my love for both digital and traditional art — a creative space where I can play with colors, textures, and ideas. It’s my way of blending science with creativity, and I’m excited to feature some of those pieces here.
